Juniperus known as common juniper is a shrub or small tree branched evergreen, 1 to 10 m high, with leaves linear-needle-like, pungent, grouped in whorls of 3. The plant is dioecious with small inflorescences, and male cones are small, ovoid, yellowish, the female cones are small greenish color.
The numerous varieties, with leaves of green-blue with a pleasant smell of wood resin, are grown for decorating parks, large gardens and groves of conifers.
